Seagulls have a bad reputation for stealing your chips, but they are intelligent, adaptable and often beautiful birds.
This seagull is perched on a couple of mooring posts and has been skilfully hand-carved from Indonesian albizia, known locally as 'silk tree', and then hand-painted with fantastic colourful detail.
